in and out
of shadow
   vanilla lilies

in his coat
rain from every puddle
we passed

summer silence..
      jesus in a manger
on the mantle

kangaroo
on the road
life still in her

mountain morning
    leaving the river
            as it was

summer breeze
presses and passes-
she wears only a dress

red glow left
in grey morn-
street light off

i enter and leave
the birds behind me-
bus at dawn

cold day
running and yelling
into the sea

fading light-
seed heads shiver
above still grass

honey-eaters-
pleasantly finding
a tree-full

sand castle-
the moment before
the avalanche

dust flows
floats in the stage light;
trumpet spit falls

line of white
clouds from the sun
dissipate

piling      tumbling
around the house tonight
voice of crickets

seated
homeless under old trees
feeding ducks

planting finished
now i understand the joy
rain on the roof

waiting...
a still eucalypt moves
in the water

why so empty?
in the grass in the garden
insects bustle

off the road
into the river
someone pisses

leaves all aglow
dapple grass and thought
binded by wind

spring reading
with mosquitoes in the shade;
the dog rests

dog stares hopefully
unoticed at the door;
we talk till late

bathroom full
of arguments;
my mistake

cool spring night
dreaming-
of cancer in the neck

Sunday, July 27, 2008

as we fight
at the lights -
galahs on the wire

street light light
held tight
morning fog

i dreamt
sardine sandwiches
for everybody

came to visit -
sun and bird song
push through closed curtains

fog loiters
over the wetland
till lunch time

Saturday, July 19, 2008

fog filled valley
fog filled head
vivid sky aloft

arresting the city
the forest..
the moon tonight

a fallow field
as yesterday
the kite hovers

pleasantly surpassing
my expectation-
this sardine sandwich
